Softrak Machines

We currently have two softraks ,the original softrak which we have run very successfully for 5 years and the recently purchased Softrak 120, which is an adaption of the original but boasts an 120 hp engine with 30% extra capacity. The Softrak 120 with its extended chassis and undercarriage and high powered engine mean it is more productive in managing larger areas of ground.

109172: Infrastructure development meeting requirements of SSSI and remote rural areas

To support the purchase of a Softrak 75 machine for summer 2019; a specialist vehicle for work in habitat restoration and protected land areas.

We currently have two softraks ,the original softrak which we have run very successfully for 5 years and the recently purchased Softrak 120, which is an adaption of the original but boasts an 120 hp engine with 30% extra capacity. The softrak 120 is available to hire with the JF Forager and collection bin. The well-proven ‘direct cut’ flail harvester system with remote controlled electric discharge chute, is capable of picking up swath or directly cut material cleanly. It can work in standing water up to a maximum depth of approx. 350mm and harvest a range of vegetation from typical wetland habitats to bracken, heather, weeds and gorse etc. Due to its unique construction, the cutting flails are relatively insensitive to foreign objects such as stones, stumps etc. Utilising the cut and collect hopper provides a self-contained unit.

The softrak 120 can also be hired with a Muthing2.2metre flail cutter. The Softrak ‘Cut and Collect System’ is a purpose built low ground pressure vehicle, fitted with a front mounted flail harvester, for use in the restoration and harvesting of all types of vegetation. On wetland habitats its extremely low ground pressure and unique flexible rubber track ensures minimal damage to both flora and fauna in these environmentally sensitive areas.

The orginal softrak is also available for hire with the cut and collect system and direct flail harvester system.

The use of the Softraks enables us to meet requirements of land owners and managers especially those working in Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) areas proving to be an ideal vehicle to work with rush, reed removal, heather harvesting and land management as well as over grown scrub land.

The Softrak is able to traverse steep slopes and cross very soft ground with ease by virtue of the extremely low ground pressure.

The Rubber track has been designed with flexible edges so that it can deflect over obstacles and does not cut into soft ground whilst manoeuvring, unlike rigid track systems, and with floating bogies a smooth ride can be achieved over rough ground.

The large cargo area allows large or heavy loads to be accommodated to be transported to site reducing inefficient transport costs.

The above demonstrates the depth of our portfolio but does not detail our complete provision. If you have a project and you would like to discuss your requirements with us, please do not hesitate
